this was a request for the image on the playbill cover of The Phantom of the Opera. i never understood why the phantom graphics always featured a mask that covers the top of the face while the mask the phantom actually wears covers the right side of his face.

It's because with the full face mask it was really hard for the actor to show emotion- and to see!- but the publicity artwork had already been done. So they left it as it was on the poster.
I know right I never really got that eather
