Or Naming Your Boy "Butch"

Breaking My Own Rules

not that anyone will notice but this is the first time that i've allowed the outer white line to go over top of the black outlines and inner colors of an object. yep, i've really started to push the envelope.

Mural for Coro

i just finished an 80ft mural for the Coro Center for Civic Leadership in Pittsburgh. it's in a hallway so i couldn't get a projector back far enough to trace the design. i drew it all freehand.

Rexy's Gonna Make It

he looks a little sad. or determined. yeah, determined. he's set on surviving that climate change...or asteroid...or hungry bigger dino.

Beaver County Times Article

i got written about in the newspaper from my hometown.

You can ring her tone

Brighton Township singer-songwriter Ali Spagnola has tapped into one of music’s hottest markets.

Spagnola’s song “Radiation” was chosen by T-Mobile as a ringtone for its MyTouch G3 with Google. That’s the phone promoted by Whoopi Goldberg in a TV commercial.

Spagnola named her song “Radiation” because it begins with the sound you hear in speakers when they’re getting cell phone interference.

“Then I chopped that sound up and mixed it as percussion for the song,” she says on her Web site. “I’m guessing that’s what made them think it would be a cool ringtone.”

It’s a funky little techno-ish tune, you can sample at T-mobile stores.

So cheers to Spagnola, whose previous claim to fame was recording a “power hour” album featuring 60 songs, each one-minute long and dealing with the topic of drinking.

It’s a remarkable album, really.

Rabbits Can't Tell Up from Down

this is the second rabbit in a hat i've painted. the first one was for a gallery and the curator actually hung it upside down by accident. it made the hat the focus of the painting and the bunny defy gravity.

AKA Beer Funnel

this request is from a woman whom i'm guessing married a gentleman that was involved in greek life. she asked me for "a cute depiction of love when one half of the husband and wife is a frat boy". i made the assumption that said husband half enjoys consuming beer at accelerated rates from a device known as a beer bong.

Mr., Mrs. and Baby Brown

i was asked to paint a man, woman and a baby in brown. i hope the requester didn't mean for me to make the people brown. cause they're white. very, very white. but they're literally in brown. not painted in brown but engulfed by it.

One Higher Than I Expected

i'm surprised i got a nine ball request before i got one for an eight ball. i guess the requester knows a yellow stripe is cooler than all black.

Three Paintings in One

i didn't want to put all three of these guys truly together on one canvas cause who knows what kind of tension there'd be due to eating and being eaten issues. so i gave them their own separate sections. although i did put a giraffe, lion and monkey together on a mural. i haven't seen the mural since i designed it but i assume the monkey and giraffe are gone having either run away or become food.

Painted from My Memory of Two Seconds Ago

i was asked to paint a star bellied sneech from memory. i have to say i cheated. i didn't even know what one was so i had to look it up. but i only looked quickly. hopefully that's acceptable.

Fraternal Twins

this requester wanted another copy of my first kitty

she said she has one just like it that's white with blue eyes. i made it a point to keep those features but i changed his look a little bit.

You Can Get Whatever You Want

"do you think I can get a T-rex in the passenger seat of a mario kart style gokart around a turn shooting arrows at a target with a cave man on it oh and can a Dolphin be driving?"

yes, sir. i think you can get that.

Missing a Couple Plurals

this requester wanted a dark and brooding painting that had to have "1. storm clouds, 2. menacing figures 3. odd landscape" well there's only one cloud and one figure but i think it works.

Expeditious Acronym

the faster you say the brand's name, the faster you get your beer. i'm assuming that's why it's known as pbr.

Laugh Track Sold Separately

yesterday, i mentioned i'd be posting another design for tim dimond soon. well he finalized his studio album faster than i thought. so today, here's the completed cover. Does his guitar look familiar?

and here's a picture of him to compare to the caricature i did.

Spanish Poem Painting

the person that requested this painting wrote a poem that goes like this:

Algunas Ballenas se Pasan la Vida Buscando el Sentido del Mar Durmiendo La Siesta Recostadas a la Orilla de la Luna Dentro de una Pecera Llena de Alcohol

in english that means:

Some whales spend all of their lives sleeping at the seaside of the moon inside a fishbowl filled with alcohol

wow that's darn cool. though i can't put my finger on why i like it so much. it's so whimsical. and peculiar. and playful. and slightly dark. plus there's booze involved. i hope my painting did it justice.

One Hell of a Trip

a pittsburgh comedian/musician, tim dimond, had me design his CD cover. this is his live recorded album. i'm also designing the cover of his album of studio tracks which will be finished soon.

Keepon Three and Four

just like i mentioned about all my muppet paintings, i was written about on beatbots.net so i got more keepon requests from his fans.

Confusing Name

i could call this the spagnola flag. cause spagnola means spanish... in italian. yeah that makes sense. i'm guessing my ancient ancestor was a sicilian that liked paella.

Orange and White Only

i decided this one didn't need black lines. and i generally try to use a background that is a contrast to the subject but this just needed to be orange on orange.

Koozebanian Muppet
