Badger Eating a Puff Adder

so apparently there's a type of snake called a puff adder. that name sounds more like a company from the 1920's. its considered africa's most dangerous snake. who the heck decided to name it something that references marshmallows and accounting?!

Orangetopus

octopuses are the laziest of all the world's creatures. this is supported by the fact that they have 8 arms but are not 4 times more productive.

Some Cool Person's Awesome Pet That Is Awesome

another person having me immortalize their dog. i can't even make fun of these people for being losers because they're the majority!

Dia De Los Muertos

the skull of a dead woman. well, maybe not. i don't want to be one of those people always stereotyping skulls. it could have been a faaaabulous guy.

Designer Logo

this painting is a "spagnolaized" version of a designers logo. (verb invented by the requester.) i really like the original logo design. click on the painting to see a comparison of the two.

Robot Music Videos

i worked with carnegie mellon, daniel h. wilson (the author of "how to survive a robot uprising") and keepon (a dancing yellow robot used for therapy) to make some promotional videos for the school. they used 5 of my songs and i got to dance with the robot in the last video!!

if you like the songs you can buy them at my store. the first video features "Finale: The Flying Penguin" from my First Album and then "Midnight" from Free Of Style. the second video opens with "Radiation" from Free Of Style and closes with "Overture: The Demo" from my First Album. The final video uses the song titled Keep On from Free Of Style. you can also find them on iTunes.

this robophone thing was developed at cmu.

daniel reads his book and tries to decide if keepon is hostile. for the opening music i sampled the sounds that happen when you get interference from cell phones and then used them as percussion.

the little robot auditions for my dance group. i had trouble performing with him because i was distracted by his unbelievable cuteness.

Chicken Two

this guy is going to a father of a girl that knows what sound a chicken makes. he believes this to be a sign of genius. i'm hoping the girl isn't an adult.

Wrench

this painting could hang any direction. i guess that's the case for all of them since they're squares. but my fire truck or any of the bunnies would be much less acceptable upside down than this wrench.

HD Greetings

My Robots For Everyone music video got accepted to HD Greetings' website. So go send my e-card to everyone cause it's free and it would be great if mine got popular.

Trumpet and Fixed Truck

i think its playing the andrews sisters.

also, i fixed the truck that i painted incorrectly, mentioned here. its got a blue background now that mysteriously looks like it used to be orange.

A Second Jerk Penguin

the person that requested my first jerk pengin painting never responded after i had it finished. so it went into my group of paintings to be given to people that didn't request anything specific. i dont know how it happened but i accidentally emailed two different people offering them the jerk penguin. then they both responded (very excitedly) with their addresses. i was forced to try and replicate the first one so both people could have it. below is what the first guy looked like.

RC Car

when i was a freshman during finals week i got an rc car and drove it around in my dorm halls and into people's rooms while everyone else (who were not art majors) was studying.

Stegosaurus

i thought it was spelled stegasaurus but i was wrong.

Classic Nintendo

the songs from these early games are still really great. maybe thats just because its familiar from childhood. i would love to have been one of the composers for that platform. what you could write was so limited but thats what makes it awesome. plus its guaranteed that your music would become a pop culture icon.

Avast Ye Scurvy Rabbit

aye, tis a fine painting worth a chest of booty but costing not one piece of eight.

Ooey Gooey Popsicle

the person that requested this one asked for a popsicle with some of it melting into an ooey gooey puddle. she also told me what colors to use for the popsicle and background. i think she understands my style because it turned out really well. she proposed her idea as "cute and simple" and i agree.

Graffiti Gift

a guy from germany (to whom i sent the painting of a praying mantis on a psychadelic background) just emailed me back today. to thank me for the painting, he made some of his art in return. its so cool! i absolutely love it. you can see in the top corner it says, "4 Ali". what an awesome thank you. i love knowing that this is somewhere out there in the world and dedicated to me.

Japanese Temple

this is for a guy that lived in japan for a while. it's interesting to see something so calm and zenlike turned into something bright and bold.

Dead Tortoise

some morbid pop art today. it was specifically requested that it be a tortoise. i had to look up the difference between tortoises and turtles. it turns out, all the paintings i've labeled as turtles were actually tortoises because they have feet. turtles have flippers. i originally had this sketched out with him on his back but i decided against it because that would show the cause of death within the painting. i thought a more ambiguous termination would be better.

Pineapple

i was asked by a woman from a design company to paint this. she said, "It will be well worth your while if you do this...I can't get into what it will be used for but I will tell you one thing if you are looking to get your name out as an artist this could be your ticket." i don't know what that means but it definitely caught my attention.

Truck of the Wrong Color

i messed this painting up. don't get me wrong, its a fabulous truck (yes this is the first time a truck has been described as fabulous), but the requester asked for it on a blue or green background. as you can see, i forgot that fact and now i'm going to have to fix it. what a waste of paint and time....just like this whole project. except that i dont actually believe that. makeup is a waste of paint and time...unless one wants a leg up in society. what was i talking about?

my second bike. the first that is of the mountain variety.

Uzi

uzis just seem so darn threatening to me. and also really powerful. i feel like i wouldn't even be able to lift a real uzi. my brother had a fake one when he was young before there was a law that they had to have orange tips. it was a darn threatening toy.....with power. i sincerely doubt you'd find a fake uzi in any store today. even if the whole thing was orange. what's to stop people from painting real guns with orange tips to get away with possessing them illegally?

Kitty

this is for a little girl who likes pink and kitties. i think i nailed it.

A Lamb Eating a Crab with Clouds in the Shape of Former Presidents Floating By

yep, this is lamb eating a crab with clouds in the shape of former presidents floating by. the person that requested that is giving it to his friend. he said his friend recently told him that she always wanted a painting of this subject. he didn't explain her reasons. i went with easily-recognizable-in-silhouette-form presidents because i don't think grover cleveland and john quincy adams would have come across like i needed them too.

Wyoming Cowboy

an expectant mother asked me to paint the university of wyoming cowboy for her unborn son. the boy is about 7 months old now. i hope he likes it.

Spaceship to Earth

i dont know if this is a human space ship returning to earth or an alien one coming to visit.

Giraffe Adjustment

this is my second giraffe. i mentioned with my first one that he was feeling "vertically cramped". then i got this request to make one all bent up inside the canvas. its a cute solution to that problem though the giraffe still seems kind of stressed out about the shape in which he must fit.

Puking Bird

this one is going to the "vomiting sparrow camp". i don't know what they do but it sounds terrible. maybe its a fat camp.
