Sweet Sixteen Gift
a girl is turning 16. this girl likes many things. this girl's mom commissioned me to paint those many things for a 16th birthday present. it's a myspace page turned in to fine art. i hope she likes it though i can't imagine she won't. everything she likes put together can't possibly make something she DOESN'T like.

God's Little Punch Lines
these dogs look ridiculous in real life. i don't need to exaggerate anything. their eyes are actually giant, round and located on the sides of their heads. and most of them look like they're pointing in opposite directions. living cartoons!

I'm Guessing He'll Take It as Is
this requester, named Logan, asked for a picture of Keroro Gunso's Sgt. Frog. he also asked me to write "To: Logan" on the bottom of the painting. as you can see, i have not fulfilled all of his request. i count the "To: Logan" part as signing my painting on the front. my website states that if you want me to sign the front of your painting, you have to donate $1,000. ball's in your court, Logan.

Brown Is Just as Cool as Lime Green
with this painting, the subject is cropped off the edge of the canvas, the colors are not bright and it's basically monochromatic. all of those characteristics are different than my usual painting style but i really like it. as i was painting it i didn't think it would turn out let alone be one of my favorites.

Nothing Says "I Love You" Like Words
i'm actually really surprised this is the first time i've gotten a painting of this nature. i figured lots more people would want to state their love through a painting. i guess they just choose to express it with two animals instead of text.

Women Need Head Protection, Too
i originally named this image file "firemanhelmet.jpg" and i realized that was sexist so i changed it to "firefighterhelmet.jpg". now when people right click, save as and steal my pictures, they won't judge me.

Little Deadly's a Social Experiment
this is a muppet of which i've never heard. he was on the muppet show with vincent price. was it nature or nurture that uncle deadly grew up to fit his name so well? was it a coincidence that he's sinister looking and happened to have the last name deadly? or did having the last name deadly cause him to grow up differently and become creepy? maybe it's just a nickname given to him after observers noticed his creep qualities. maybe he's not a living creature but in fact a puppet that was sewn together and named. we'll never know.

You're in the Clear
here is the second of the drink paintings commission. it's weird because that was the third martini i've painted and this is the third mug of beer. based on my research, liquor and malt beverages are equally popular.

Liquor Before Beer
this is one of two drink paintings for a recent commission. it goes along with a mug of beer i'll be posting tomorrow. it takes me a little longer than your normal bartender to fill a drink order.

He Doesn't Even Look Like a Hedgehog
a blue hedgehog that can run faster than the speed of sound. where do they come up with these things? that makes less sense than a hero italian plumber.

Radiation by Spagnola Ringtone
a while ago i was contacted by the Director of Mobile Platforms at Google to use one of my songs as a ringtone. the T-Mobile MyTouch G3 with Google has just come out and Radiation by Spagnola is one of the default ringtones! actually the song title is just Radiation but the people at Google were nice enough to plug my name.
it's called Radiation because the song starts out with the sound you hear in speakers when they're getting cell phone interference. then i chopped that sound up and mixed it as percussion for the song. i'm guessing that's what made them think it would be a cool ringtone.
so go check out the MyTouch at a T-Mobile store. better yet, buy one and dance to my song when people call. if you want the track you can get it on itunes
or buy the ringtone.

Bow to Your Dessert
when i was asked for a cupcake princess i almost painted a human. clearly the better choice was to paint a royal piece of food.

GIR from Invader Zim
this character is from the cartoon "invader zim". i'd never heard of it until this request which is surprising because i watch a lot of animation. the show seemed cool when i looked up information about it but it's canceled. perhaps i'll seek it out on DVD.

A Tempting Lifestyle
monks are people who practice abstinence from various sorts of worldly pleasures. i suspect an evil monk would practice abstinence from worldly pains. sounds good to me.

He Pefers the Term "Special"
i titled this "fifth skull" but i feel weird putting it in with the other skulls because they've all been skull and crossbones on red with similar sized eyes and six teeth. this guy is just a bit different.

Get Made Fun of Slightly Less
this is the coolest of the reeds. don't get me wrong, a bassoon seems awesome to me but our culture says the sax player is the coolest of all the band nerds with reed instruments.

A Dignified Yet Face Melting Guitar Solo
sorry i forgot to post yesterday. my excuse is that this guitar looks kind of patriotic so it should go with george washington, the first president of the USA. man, now i want to see george washington wailing on an electric guitar.
i was going to put him on green at first but i figured pictures of george washington are sick of being on green. i'm guessing the actual man wouldn't care so much but the representations of the man are really getting fed up with being on green all the time.
this is for someone who wanted a copy of guitar number three. maybe i'm red/blue colorblind....even though that's not actually a variant.
