Ladybugs Are Swift and Powerful Killers

i was asked to paint a ladybird. apparently ladybugs eat ladybirds because in every image i found when i searched for ladybird, a ladybug had dove into the frame and annihilated the ladybird just before the picture was taken. since ladybugs have such an insatiable appetite which destroys any photographer's hope of capturing an image of a ladybird, i had no way of knowing what a ladybird looks like. i painted a ladybug instead. i hope the requester doesn't mind.

BRB...In a Week

a little over a year ago i went to visit some friends in california. we rented a houseboat and went out on a lake for the weekend.

side note: i met some new people on that trip which meant more people to give free paintings! (all of my not-new friends have too many paintings i keep churning out at them.) so this houseboat was requested. that's what our rental actually looked like.

anyway, we're renting one again this year! i'll be on the west coast from tonight through next week! hope you don't miss the pop too much while i'm gone!

I Design. I Art

a friend of mine asked me to design some business cards for him. which ended up meaning he needed a logo design too. then the free painting happened. the logo represents that he is a developer, marketer, entrepreneur and artist. the weird part is that for the bottom right corner, i first made vector art to look like brush strokes. then i used strokes of an actual paintbrush to reproduce the vector art.
