this one is the first in a five painting series for a commission. each painting is of a different character and together they make a bleeped out expletive. i think it's a pretty cool request. i'll post the rest of them over the next four days.

Grim Mouse Reaper

this is the character "death of rats" from Terry Pratchett's Discworld book series. he's in charge of gathering the souls of rodents.

Four Gals

the request was for four female gendered animals and a gay reference. so this bunny, raccoon, mouse and cat get to live on a rainbow. you can tell they're girls because male animals don't have eyelashes. mickey and minnie are two of many cartoon critters that prove this fact.

Grapes and Wine

i forgot to post yesterday but its ok because these two paintings are supposed to be together. someone requested a free painting and then commissioned a second one to go with it. i made sure they went together chromatically.

The Eiffel Tower

i was there once. its quite nice. i'm going to go back and take my mom next time.

Eat Ass

i painted this little 8x10" creature for my friend that i shall not name because she'd probably be embarassed i'm telling this story. but anyways, i had texted this friend about going to get ice cream or something equally unhealthy. she responded by telling me that she wanted to come because she was a fat ass. the only problem was that she didn't take into account the fact that her cell phone T9 predictive text program thinks "fat" and "eat" are the same word. so i ended up getting at text that said, "i am an eat ass". quite funny. then she asked me what an eat ass looked like. then she said she was going to google image search it to find out. i quickly advised her that searching the internet for the words "eat" and "ass" together wasn't such a good idea. i had to design this character so she could know what an eat ass looks like without risking asking google.

Toaster With Toast

my second toaster painting. the first one i did wasn't for a request. i chose to do for a gallery a few weeks ago because i figured no one would request a toaster...then someone did. he specified he'd like it to have toast popping out. it must be a magic toaster because it toasted without electicity. the last one i painted had a plug. maybe the plug is behind where you can't see it. or it's solar powered. green toast!

the request was for a japanese dragon writing something with a quill. i bet its a haiku about arson.

Bat and Skunk

the requester for this one had to clarify that she meant a bat as in "the mammal not the baseball whacking device". that gave me a chuckle.

Fourthbowl

that bowl is the entire universe.

i was asked to make a trompe-l'oeil. the title is a reference to Pere Borrell del Caso's Escaping Criticism.

Typing Monkey

a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type a given text, such as the complete works of William Shakespeare.

Button Box Accordion

i actually played a button box for one of the songs on my Power Hour Album. track 40 is a sea chanty so i had to teach myself how to play this because it was the perfect instrument to use.

Marker

i like it when i get asked to paint things that are smaller than the 12" canvas. it would be cool to have a marker that's as big as i painted it. that would be some serious fumes, though.

someone asked for a dinosaur. not a tyrannosaurus. not a triceratops. not a stegosaurus. just dinosaur. i liked the freedom. i made him a nonspecific species. just kind of a dinosaur-y creature. he ended up being kind of anthropomorphic actually.

Broken Whiskey Glass

this is for a woman who met her boyfriend when he was brought to a party at her house, got hammered and dropped a whiskey tumbler on her toilet. he shattered the tumbler and the toilet. they started dating ten days later.

this was donated to be auctioned off at a golf tournament fund raiser for the leukemia & lymphoma society.

Zoe

the file name for this dog's picture was demon-zoe.jpg. i got rid of the demon eyes for the painting.
