Vacuume

vacuume has two u's in it. weird. this is the second appliance i've painted. the first was a dryer. i did paint a couple blenders but they had fish in them so i'd say they were paintings of animals.

Suitcase

when i was younger, my dance company did at number where we tapped on suitcases to a song about the railroad. this painting reminds me of that.

TV 2 and Scottie the Second

when i first painted a tv, i hung it in a gallery where i was showing 24 free paintings. i let the people that came to the gallery take a painting. this was the second to last painting to go. i guess it was just circumstance because someone now requested another one. its not that paintings of televisions aren't cool, its just that no one that went to the gallery that day was crazy about it.



i accidentally erased over this entry with the tv entry above. that's why i have two posted today and nothing for tomorrow. i swear its still a square foot a day though!

anyway, this scottie is the second one i've done. this time he doesn't have a tartan collar. he looks more like a puppy.

i created a character in maya (who looks suspiciously like me) and made her walk. you can see that riveting work here:

perhaps i'll have the time to make that animation in the future.

Punctuation

maybe some day i'll have been asked to paint every character on the keyboard and then i could create a free paintings font. so far i've got a question mark. let's hope the monogram requests start pouring in.

when i'm asked to do a duplicate painting, i purposely don't look at the old one in attempt to have some variaton on subesquent paintings. below is a pineapple i did a couple months ago. its different...but not that different.

although i have mixed feelings about urban outfitters, those feelings mostly being frustration peppered with jealousy, they are currently carrying something that will benefit my patrons. because its cool to like vinyl i guess, they're selling frames that fit record covers exactly. it just so happens that my free paintings are the same size as record covers. so if you're looking for a way to display your new art (all 200-some of you that have received a free painting) look here:




they sell them in sets of two. i take that as a sign that you should accept one free painting and then promptly buy another one from me to go with it.

i'm a big fan of converse because they're easy to not match. i usually wear a black and a white one.

i was told to make this non-alcoholic. does it look like it is? the color kind of reminds me of ecto-cooler. that stuff was gooooood.

i don't know why someone would want a year round artwork that depicts a once a year event but here it is. a birthday cake. the requester didn't ask for a certain number of candles so i went with four.

One Square Foot Of Art A Day

as you may have noticed, i haven't been posting that often to my blog or to my free paintings lately. i've been working on my 3-d animation reel in attempt to make myself look hireable. i'll post something about that when its more finished.

though i'm still animating, i've decided to start posting to my blog regularly. hopefully one post a day will give me some sense of accomplishment. so i'm going to paint one free painting a day, every day, and write about it. (and of course mail it to the person that requested it.) up until now i was working on many paintings at a time and was mailing them out in batches. i was told i was going to get burned out but i didn't believe it. it did start to get wearing. thats another reason why havent posted in a while. it is also really frustrating because shipping and supplies are expensive. the harder i work, more my bank account DECREASES. there's something wrong with this picture. i get punished for being productive. but i'm not going to stop. i think this new one-a-day practice will put some life back into my art.

so here goes...i'm going to create one square foot of art a day.
